AMP Sculpture

The Marketing Station which evolved into Pont3 was retained by AMP in 2001 to manage the removal of the 12m high Olympic Statues which were displayed prominently on top of Centrepoint Tower for two years before the Games.

The project was an enormous undertaking with massive operational and aviation risks involved.

Pont3 was responsible for overall project management working alongside key contractors Winton Associates, responsible for engineering the dismantle and re-installation of the sculptures to permanent locations.

Pont3 negotiated the final ‘resting place’ for each of the three sculptures along with re-installation at their new homes.

The removal was done by the famous Ericcson AirCrane “Elvis” famous for it’s years of fire fighting in both Victoria and NSW.
